2015: Adeboye task members on Voters Card

Pastor E. A Adeboye

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye at the Holy Ghost Congress, tasked all members of the church nationwide to ensure they access the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Permanent Voters Card (PVC).

Adeboye told the huge congregation including the pastors to ensure they redeem their PVC before the first Sunday of 2015.

He spoke at the annual event held along Kilometer 46, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, adding that it was the best opportunity to choose the right leader. The 2014 Congress was titled "The Great Shepherd"

Adeboye, who showed the entire congregation his PVC alongside PVC of his wife, Pastor Mrs. Folu Adeboye, emphasized significant of collecting the PVCs to elect the right leader in the forthcoming general election.

“If you have to spend the whole day, do it. Sit down there and make sure you collect it. Your voters’ card is your power to chose the person who you want to rule you.

“The first one is my own and the second is for my wife. So by first Sunday next year, you must come to church with your voters card,” the clergy said.

Speaking on increasing number of Internal Displaced Persons (IDPs), rendered homeless as a result of insurgent attacks, Adeboye appealed to the church to support the victims.

He urged the congregation to offer their supports before December 31st, 2014 and make the proceeds available to the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).

Adeboye said, “There are thousands of people now displaced from their home. They need food. Some of them have lost everything they have to inferno. Some needs cloth among others.

“If you will love to contribute something to make life more comfortable for these people, so that you can be more comfortable, please do so, either tonight or before end of the year.”

“Whatever we get must be for those who have been displaced. We will put everything together and handle it to CAN and they will immediately pass it to the people,” he added.

The clergy read the Book of Psalm 23, Matthew 6 verse 6, during his sermon to encourage the congregation.
